PRGP's Volunteers

PRGP is 100% volunteer driven. We are made up of a dedicated group of Pit Bull lovers. As volunteers, we work hard to rescue needy Pit Bulls from area shelter, educate the public about this misunderstood breed and promote responsible ownership. Our collective experience as educators, vet assistants, rescuers, trainers, marketers and pit bull owners motivates us to work for this organization.

Please note, only the people listed below are official PBRC volunteers, we want you to know who you are working with.

Darci

Darci founded PRGP when there was no hope for a desperate Pit Bull named Kenya at a local shelter. In addition to her financial support of rescue efforts, Darci contributes her time writing policies, programs and overseeing the financial responsibility of PRGP. Darci’s background is in marketing, she has worked in an animal shelter in fundraising and operations. Darci has two pits. She calls her dogs special needs: Freckles was abused as a puppy and came into rescue with two broken legs, she now has screws and pins in her front legs that are already inflicted with arthritis and Bo is a puppy that was born deaf and is successfully learning an array of hand signals. Darci’s focus is on responsible pet ownership and education.  Email Darci

Eric

Eric is our web guru and secretary. He has been working diligently on updating the style of the website and Eric is also active on committees.  With his wife he eagerly participated even before they adopted their baby girl Eve. Eric strives to change the image of Pit Bulls and has taken his puppy Eve to 6 different obedience and agility courses and plans to continue her schooling to be a Canine Good Citizen Email Eric

Jennifer

Jennifer became involved with PRGP when she adopted Lady, a one year old brindle pit from the rescue. Jennifer thought long and hard about whether Lady was the right fit for their family and visa versa. She has extensive breed experience and great knowledge of animal behavior. Her family owned a wolf as a family pet and conformed to all local requirements to do so. She recently implemented a Pit Bull education program with her husband Clint. Jennifer recently adopted a puppy from PRGP and she is also a current foster family. To put it in her own words Jennifer is “eager to raise some money” so PRGP can continue to educate the public about this misunderstood breed.

Clint M.

Along with his wife, Jennifer, Clint has been involved since adopting Lady. Their family has grown through fostering and the adoption of their puppy, Ginger. Clint is active in educating the public on what it means to be a good dog owner, and helping kids learn more about making the right choices when it comes to dealing with dogs of all kinds. He is also interested in promoting Pit Bull friendly sports in our area, particularly working-dog activities such as cart and weight pulling. He hopes to implement a pulling program for the rescue dogs by Spring of 2008.
