American Pit Bull Terrier
1 1/2 Years Old

Lady is a 1 1/2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier.  She is a little darling and still awaiting her forever home.  If you meet her at our monthly adoption days you'll often find Lady sporting a new jacket, t-shirt or sweater - she's a stylish little "Lady".  Lady came to PRGP from an Animal Control facility when she was just 5 weeks old.  Yes, she's been waiting for the right home a very long time.  Lady is spunky, silly and playful.  She lives with several canine siblings in foster care.  Her favorite game is to chase her pit bull foster brother, Bo, around the trees in the backyard.  She absolutely loves dog toys.  You'll often find her carrying a toy in her mouth.  And be careful don't leave your socks laying around or she might mistake that for a toy too.  Lady is used to being crated when no one is home and enjoys "her crated special place".  In fact Lady has established a routine in the morning.  When her foster mom is getting ready for work Lady goes directly to her kennel and lays down.   Lady loves to learn new tricks, she knows sit and down and is full of kisses.  Lady is a petite pit bull at just 42 pounds, she gets along with most dogs after a proper introduction, but will assert herself with others.  For the most part Lady is very laid back.  She enjoys naps and cuddling, most days you'll find her curled up on a chair or her dog bed in front of the bay window at her foster home.  Lady has been difficult to place because she has some on going health concerns her new family will have to deal with.  Since birth she has battled a variety of issues because of a weak immune system and now lives with on-going skin allergies (you can see the rash on her neck in the picture on the left).  Based on the season they come and go but Lady does need Benadryl and Prednisone on occasion.  Major outbreaks are also treated topically with Hydrocortisone spray.  The medications are not extremely expensive but her adoptive family will have to pay close attention to ensure the skin allergies do not turn into secondary infections.  Lady would be great in a quiet home enjoying a couple long walks each day and she would also enjoy a canine brother to ran and play with in a big backyard.  She's great buds with Cain - maybe you want to add two to your family.  We know Lady's forever home is out there.  Is she the right fit for you?
